1. Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park
Scotland’s first official forest park, this quiet park to the east of Perth opened its doors in 1991. Corsiehill, Deuchny Hill, Barn Hill, Binn Hill, and Kinnoull Hill are among the five hills that make up this area.
There is also a wealth of flora and fauna, roe deer, red squirrels, and magnificent open overlooks that provide a panoramic view of the Perth countryside. The park also has waymarked nature trails that go through lovely mixed Scots pine, larch, oak, birch, and Norway spruce woods.
2. Black Watch Castle & Museum
The Black Watch Museum is housed inside the famed Balhousie Castle, which is thought to have been constructed in the 12th century. The history of Scotland’s oldest Highland Regiment is brought to life via artefacts, paintings, pictures, personal accounts, and interactive exhibits as you visit the Black Watch’s ancestral home.
3. Scone Palace
Ancient Scottish structure known as Scone Palace served as the former coronation site for Scottish aristocracy. Beautiful gardens and serene woodland surround it, making it the ideal place for a stroll or even a picnic.
You may view Mary Queen of Scots’ needlework talents inside the palace, as well as the State Rooms where Queen Victoria was entertained when traveling to the Highlands. Along with the 2,000 beech tree “tartan” maze, the grounds also feature a fantastic adventure playground for kids. The Murray Star insignia was used to plant the maze.
4. River Tay Way
One of the five major Scottish salmon rivers, the River Tay is the longest river in Scotland at 119 miles. In Perth, North Inch Park and the lovely riverside boardwalk are the greatest places to appreciate the river.
Watch for The River Tay Way, a brand-new long-distance walking and cycling path that will pass through some of Perthshire’s most beautiful landscapes on its journey from Perth to Kenmore. Both the walking and cycling routes follow well-travelled roads, specifically National Cycle Route 77.
5. River Tay Public Art Trail
On your journey to Perth, check out The River Tay Public Art Trail, a 2.5-mile wheelchair-accessible path that starts and ends in Perth’s downtown. It includes provocative sculptures that are inspired by the city, the region, the river and its fauna, and local history.

6. Perth Art Gallery
The Fergusson Collection will relocate to Perth Art Gallery in Spring 2023 as part of a significant renovation, giving it additional space to display works and improved accessibility. More local, Scottish, and foreign artists’ works will be showcased than ever before at the newly renovated Perth Art Gallery.
7. Branklyn Garden
Brankyln Garden, which includes a stunning variety of rhododendrons, alpines, and herbaceous plants, in addition to some lovely woods, will appeal to gardeners and botanists.
It is a refuge of peace and tranquillity nearby Perth’s downtown and has a magnificent variety of rare species and exotic plants. In the shop, you may buy gifts, seeds, and plants, including a variety of rare alpines, perennials, and bulbs.
8. Perth Racecourse

Two of the routes in this location have been made wheelchair accessible, and they also provide picnic places and viewing platforms for the entire forest.
10. Willowgate Activity Centre
Within 5 miles of Perth’s city centre, Willowgate gives guests the option to go by land or water.
