This campground or vacation park is situated in the thick of things. The main beach and Mount Maunganui are bustling with east coast admirers. This location is truly “beachfront.” The Mount Maunganui Summit hike, a magnificent 40-minute hike with spectacular views of the campground and beyond, is also just nearby.

On the Twharanui Peninsula, close to Matakana and Omaha, is Tāwharanui Regional Park. You can reach paradise by car from Auckland in one hour and fifteen minutes. This area is ideal for campervan travel because it has white sand and a lot of shoreline. On the northeastern coast, the Tāwharanui campground is hidden among sand dunes.

There is a sizable camping area there, and you may traverse the sand dunes to get to the beach. For tent camping, there are specific places, and for vehicle-based camping, there are distinct zones.
