The Big Island – Hawaiian Island

The Big Island is the more common name of Hawaii Island, for your information.

When it comes to this island, culture is the most notable thing to see and feel. Of course, Hawaiian culture is here and there in Hawaii. However, it’s the Big Island where the culture flourishes around every corner.

It is the place where the Merrie Monarch Festival happens. This carnival is basically the Hawaiian Olympics. And just like others in nearby islands, the locals here love to promote and perpetuate their native culture to visitors.

Those who want to see volcanoes cannot go wrong getting a ticket to Hawaii Island. This island is home to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is the only spot to watch active lava lakes, Mauna Loa and Kilauea. Both of them are inside the park. You can witness all kinds of magnetic volcanic and geological phenomena here.

The Gathering Isle – Oahu

If you go on a vacation with your family, there is no better destination than Oahu. This island is perfect for people of all ages. It has countless accommodations and activities ideal for parents and teenage kids.

You and your family can try many things, from outdoor recreational to meaningful and informative activities while you’re here. For example, going to Ty Gurney Surf School to learn surf lessons, spending time to know about history at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, etc.

And it would be remiss not to mention the Seven Mile Miracle in terms of surfing in Oahu. The North Shore of Oahu is the best zone for surfers challenging their surfing ability for ages. For advanced wave riders, you can try Pipeline, Waimea Bay, and Rocky Point. And for newbies, you can choose zones for fledgling surfers such as Turtle Bay, and Puaʻena Point.

The Garden Isle – Kauai – Hawaiian Island

Kauai really lives up to its nickname as it has many stunning botanical gardens.

Nature fans will see a boundless supply of alfresco wonders to pick from while they are on Hawaii’s most aged island. For example, come to see “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” – the enormous Allerton Garden, Waimea Canyon State Park, etc.

Hiking lovers will find comfort in trekking Kauai’s paths and trails. The Kalalau trail is a mecca for Hawaii hikers. This trail curls in and around the Napali Coast. You can explore the trail to different milestones. For instance, Hanakapiai Falls, Hanakapiai Beach, or even the whole eleven-mile trail, etc.

The Valley Isle – Maui

Though every Hawaiian island offers wonderful beaches, beach fans always find that Maui is truly the best with epic shores and tranquil coastlines. The genuine paradise here includes Hookipa Beach, Kihei Beach, Wailea Beach, Kaanapali Beach, and more. And if you want to see a black sand beach, head to Honokalani Black Sand Beach on the way to Hana.

Food lovers will surely have many interesting experiences with Maui’s culinary scene. This place is home to a string of award-winning regional eateries.
