New Year’s Eve at Science World
Normally, Science World seeks to motivate the next generation of problem solvers, but a little celebration here never hurts anyone, so trust the science!
This geodesic dome, which can accommodate 1200 people, features five fully-licensed bars, and on New Year’s Eve, you can party hard in two different rooms with some of Vancouver’s best DJs.
Each of these was supported by a fantastic audio and lighting setup that could compete with any of Vancouver’s best nightclubs.
Expect the price of tickets to start at around $90, which includes a free glass of champagne.
New Year’s Eve at Concord in False Creek
Concord’s New Year’s Eve Vancouver celebrates its victorious comeback with a party greater than ever after a few years away due to COVID.
With the Coast Mountains and the city skyline serving as a backdrop, this beautiful fireworks ballet will be sent off from numerous ships and local structures.
Local landmarks like Science World and BC Place will have coordinated lighting with the play to enhance the ambiance.
You should be able to see Vancouver’s biggest New Year’s celebration from any place around the Seawall, Yaletown, Olympic Village, or the Cambie Street Bridge.
Spend a final night of the year in the nearby mountains
Grouse Mountain
Three new New Year’s Eve celebrations are added each year to Grouse Mountain’s already jam-packed holiday and winter activities schedule.
As a result, the Peak of Vancouver is among the top activities in Vancouver on New Year’s Eve for people of all ages.
After the final sitting at the Observatory, there is typically music and dancing.
We’ll have to cross our fingers in hopes that this regional custom may return for the 2023 New Year in Vancouver.
Cypress Mountain

Although the event is officially free, it is primarily intended for people who have previously paid for a day lift ticket or a season pass. So Cypress Mountain might be the place to go if you’re considering taking the kids skiing.
Around 5:00 pm, light appetizers and snacks are offered, and live entertainment and music begin shortly after. Before the fireworks show, at about 9:00 p.m., you can roast marshmallows over the fire.
The event may not exactly be a barn burner, but it’s great for parents of small kids who like to participate in winter sports.
Mount Seymour
Mt. Seymour hosts a less extravagant event called Family First Night to usher in the new year, much like Cypress does.
The program goes from approximately 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, making it ideal for parents who want to spend some time with their children before hiring a babysitter and going out to dinner.
You may go snowshoeing, tobogganing, and sledding with your $30 ticket, but you’ll need to provide your own equipment. In addition, there will be face painting, magic shows, scavenger hunts, crafts, and a final fireworks display.
Compared to Cypress, there are a lot more activities for youngsters, and there is a wider selection of food. The event is thus unquestionably among the greatest family-friendly activities to do in Vancouver on New Year’s Eve. Additionally, there is a free shuttle service to Parkgate Village in North Vancouver, allowing you to avoid navigating the mountain roads.
3. Weather on New Year’s Eve in Vancouver
It will probably be cold but not freezing—at least not by Canadian standards.
Rain will very certainly fall if you stay a few days here; at this time of year, it’s practically a given. Snow is a possibility. However, it often stays in the suburbs and mountains of the interior.
However, in addition to your NYE best, you should also bring a good jacket, a scarf, and a sweater.
