This is the endearing moment a baby elephant slips and slides while attempting to lift himself out of a mud bath before collapsing back in in South Africa.
Cute film shows the elephant standing on his hind legs, attempting to follow larger elephants up the slope.
However, when attempting to move his right foot to the edge of the pool of water, he loses his equilibrium and falls back into the mud.

Last Sunday, a newborn elephant’s charming attempts to join the herd were filmed in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.
The elephant may be seen following a much larger member of the herd in the South African mud bath at the beginning of the video.
Splashing his feet in the water, he makes his way to the slick shore, while the larger animal effortlessly climbs up to dry land.
As he prepares to climb up, he positions himself on his hind legs and elevates his front feet to acquire a grip on the top of the bank.
When he lifts his left hind leg upwards, the elephant is unable to get high enough and falls sideways back into the water after flailing around for a second.
Two of the elder elephants can be seen turning around to assist their younger sibling after he fell back into the pool.
Making a second attempt, the child is supported by two of his siblings with their trunks as he slides up the bank.
Finally, still supported by the trunks of the larger elephants, he yanks himself up to the shore and dashes away to the surrounding dry grass.

The baby elephant finally makes it to the top with the help of two friends and their trunks
