The best time of the year to see the display of multicolor flowers blossoming in Keukenhof Gardens is in spring. This is the biggest flower garden in the world.

The fest attracts thousands of both locals and worldwide visitors each year. They come to enjoy the fresh air of springtime and take photos of the stunning landscape.

Covering a space of about 80 acres in Lisse, you can see plenty of flowers in its full blossom, such as tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, crocuses, and bluebells. The garden opens all year round, but it reaches its fullest beauty from March to May.

King’s Day celebrates the childbirth of King Willem-Alexander with many activities such as roadway parades,  live music, and dance parties on the 27th of April. This is one of the biggest festivals in the Netherlands. People of all ages assemble in central Amsterdam to enjoy the event. 

You will see the decoration with colorful ship parties the 17th-century canals theme, and live bands serving along the road Rembrandtsplein and Prinsengracht.

Flowers grab the highlight again with the annual Flower Parade. This event happens over a period of 4 days in April. People decorate about 20 caravan floats and vehicles with colorful flowers, such as the nation’s favored daffodils and tulips. 

The parade generally travels from Noordwijk to Haarlem. It is accompanied by marching bands and street entertainers. After reaching the last destination, they will display the flower floats in the center of Haarlem for viewers to enjoy and take photos of.

To take part in both classic and modern performances of the fest, you should aim for Amsterdam. This is the biggest performing arts extravaganza in the Netherlands. 

In June of every year, main Dutch and global businesses perform in Amsterdam’s concert halls. For example, Muziekgebouw, International Theater Amsterdam, Royal Theater Carré, and Westergasfabriek. Concerts vary from classical music, and opera, to multimedia, film, and visual arts.

The Amsterdam Gay Pride praises the world’s LGBT society over the duration of an August weekend. With a lively canal march, street-throwing parties, and outdoor concerts, this is one of the biggest gay fests worldwide.

A kick-off event is a group and opening speech at the Homomonument on Westermarkt. Then, there is a Pride in the Park show at Vondelpark. The concerts and parties take place for 2 weeks with dancers and DJs performing around the city.

The Rotterdam Summer Carnival is one of the most extensive Latin American festivities in Europe. During daylight, street marches made up of more than 2,000 Latin dancers, music bands, and about 30 colorful floats take charge of the roads. They also have a line-up of around 60 performers serving on outdoor sets.

No carnival in the Netherlands is fulfilling without submitting in tasty food and neither is the Summer Carnival. Mercado Market wraps central Rotterdam’s Coolsingel Street with numerous vendors offering meals from all worldwide, such as Dutch, Spanish, Chinese, Antillean, etc.

This is a 10-day occasion marking the city’s UNESCO-listed trenches. More than 150 classical music shows happen in different areas surrounding Amsterdam’s Prinsengracht as known as the Prince Canal. 

A spotlight of this fest is the Prinsengracht Concert. It takes place on a float close to the Pulitzer Hotel. You can join in free shows on both the streets or on boats anchored along the channel side.
