Mother’s Day in The Netherlands: 5 Reasons Why You Want To Be A Dutch Mother

Being a mother is a very happy thing. But if you are a Dutch mother you will be much happier. Why? Read the article below to know the answer.

1. Children in Holland are happy

As you know, the Netherlands has been one of the happiest countries in the world for many years. So, kids born in this country would be the happiest people in the world.

2. Children in the Netherlands pick up numerous languages.

For Europeans, speaking many languages is commonplace, especially among younger generations – it’s not just another set of professional skills to pick up, as some adults would think.

Even though it’s rare, the Dutch child might also pick up some Mestreechs or another Limburgs dialect.

3. Education in the Netherlands

Dutch students would be able to graduate from college without having to take on as much debt in student loans as Americans would.

The strategy for saving tuition money to pay for their higher education is therefore much simplified — and does not have to start pre-conception — with tuition being on the order of a little over € 2,000 euros per year, as opposed to tens of thousands of US dollars per year.

4. Dutch kids are in better health.

The Dutch child could certainly benefit from some of the older antibiotics for treating infections.

Why, you inquire? The least amount of antibiotics is prescribed by Dutch doctors out of all the European Union countries, which is a well-known trait. It follows that the Netherlands has one of the lowest rates of antibiotic resistance and one of the lowest rates of consumption of antimicrobials worldwide.

By the way, there isn’t a premium to pay for that sniffling child to get basic health insurance and dental care until they turn 18 years old.

5. The Netherlands’s health system

In contrast to the US, fertility treatments are covered by the standard health insurance plan in the Netherlands with a small co-payment.

When it comes to prenatal care, midwifery services, and finally bringing that baby into the world (birth care), these are also covered by the typical insurance plan.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mothers-to-be in preparation for the day when you give birth to a child who was born in the Netherlands and who will be happier, more independent, smarter, tougher, and better protected against many health conditions than a child born elsewhere.
