There are no fewer than 43 amusement parks in the Netherlands, 16 of which draw more than one million people each year. In Dutch culture, amusement parks are commonplace. The top six theme parks are listed below.
1. The Efteling
The Efteling is, without a doubt, the top park! The history of Dutch culture is represented in this lovely, roomy park with its abundance of vegetation. The park, however, doesn’t merely rely on its former success; it also continues to create new attractions and invests in the upkeep of its current ones.
Visitors are invited to construct their own stories as they travel breathtakingly through a fairytale palace on the attraction Symbolica, which was unveiled in 2017. The Efteling is ultimately about absorption in a fairytale world where everyone can experience their own story. Therefore, the goal is to pique the imagination.
2. Duinrell
Wassenaar, which is close to The Hague, is where you may find Duinrell. The fact that this green park is relatively smaller makes it simpler to navigate. Visitors to this park can enjoy a variety of attractions, including playgrounds and carousels for children, thrilling rollercoasters, and, of course, the legendary Tiki Pool, an adventure pool with several slides. Even just a day trip to the pool is worthwhile!
3. Slagharen Amusement Park
Ponypark Slagharen is how many people still refer to this Wild West-themed amusement park, but the ponies have long ago made way for rollercoasters, a pirate ship, and a Mexican-themed pool. The fact that you can spend the night at Slagharen Amusement Park is one of its best features. There are various lodging options available, all decorated in a cowboy manner.
4. Toverland
The village of Sevenum in the southern Netherlands is home to Toverland, which just recently opened. It is split up into various worlds, each with its own concept. Enter the artistically created Ithaka or the medieval Celtic world of Avalon to experience ancient Greece. With a focus on ambiance and the environment, Toverland is packed with thrilling activities. All ages can enjoy the park!
5. Drievliet
Visit Drievliet in the city of The Hague if you’re looking for a family-friendly theme park. You can customize your visit to the park, which opened in 1938, by choosing from a variety of interesting rollercoasters, family activities, and magic performances.
To do this, Drievliet divided its park into four sections: family, kids, shows, and “thrills,” a collection of activities targeted at true thrill-seekers.
6. Walibi Holland
Look no further for your next thrill: Walibi is the place to be! The highest and fastest rollercoasters can be found here, which will offer you a significant surge of excitement. The Goliath is Europe’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster! Yet Walibi offers more than just rollercoasters; it also has a number of water rides, scaled-down rollercoasters, and bumper cars for little children. You can also stay the night at Walibi.
