Visit Elora Quarry in Ontario to Swim in Crystal Clear Waters This Summer

Prepare your swimsuit! Ontario’s enchanted swimming hole will soon reopen, allowing visitors to play around in blue water surrounded by limestone cliffs.

On June 10, 2023, the Elora Quarry Conservation Area will once again be open to tourists. The well-liked location, which is roughly an hour and a half from Toronto, is renowned for its unusual heart-shaped beach, 40-foot-high white cliffs, and sandy beach.

You can unwind on the shore or float around in the two acres of the Elora Quarry’s turquoise water. On the cliffs, it is not authorized to jump, dive, or climb.

In addition to swimming, there is a 1-kilometer circular walk with views of the Grand River that travels through woodlands. Visitors can reserve one of numerous shady picnic sites on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to the quarry’s high demand, tickets, and parking permits must be reserved in advance. Every day, there are two four-hour time slots available: one in the morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the other in the afternoon from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The price of the tickets is $10.50, and the sessional parking pass is $15. Tickets for the upcoming week are made available each Friday afternoon, and both must be purchased online.

Before or after your quarry experience, you could explore the lovely surrounding town of Elora. You may browse the boutiques in the area and eat wonderful meals at places like the Elora Mill.

The Elora Gorge Conservation Area, which offers lovely treks along the Grand River and tubing opportunities, is close to the quarry. If you want to visit both locations, you must purchase separate tickets for the Elora Gorge Conservation Area because it is a separate location.

Along with the Elora Quarry, other Ontario swimming sites worth visiting this summer include the enchanted Bathtub Island and the ethereal Bridal Veil Falls.
