Squamish in British Columbia has been named one of the greatest places to visit in the world for 2023. The only Canadian location on the list, the mountain village lives up to its reputation.
Travel Lemming, an online travel guide, compiled information from travel professionals to generate a list of the 50 Best Places to Travel in 2023, with Squamish, BC, ranking 47th.
The United States was well represented on this list, with 20 locations, including Detroit, Michigan and Mammoth Lakes, California. Canada suffered a little harder, given Squamish was the sole location representing the country, but still did a nice job.
The town is roughly an hour away from Vancouver and is full of beautiful scenery, small shops, and challenging treks.
“Take in stunning vistas on the Sea to Sky Gondola, then walk to the summit of the Stawamus Chief monolith,” Travel Lemming writer Brooke Horrobin stated.
“Trails also go through lush forests, through alpine lakes, and to Shannon Falls, a stunning 335-meter cascade.” You’ll quickly understand why many people in Western Canada refer to the region as the “West Coast, Best Coast,” according to Horrobin.
According to the rankings, the ideal time to visit this gorgeous village is between May and September. Just in time to avoid the wet season!
Grand Junction, Colorado, is immediately ahead of Squamish on the list, and Zagreb, Croatia, is right behind it.
Lafayette, Louisiana is far ahead, grabbing the top rank, followed by Bhutan.
