The best things to see and do
Paddle the Moore River
The Swan Coastal Plain includes the Moore River. The ‘Desert,’ which spans 40 hectares from a part of the river, is a local feature. This movable sand dune is moving northeastward at a rate of about 1.5 meters per year. This river is also a paddler’s paradise, with a designated launching station with parking and restrooms at Silver Creek, about 1.5 kilometers upstream from the river mouth.
Besides, to provide a safe kayaking experience, non-motorized zones have been established at Silver Creek, the river mouth, and upstream from Diamond Island. At the river’s mouth, you can rent a paddleboat, kayak, or canoe.

Gingin’s Leaning Tower
Take a leisurely half-hour journey east to Gingin, and you can find the Leaning Tower of Gingin. This leaning tower stands 45 meters tall. It was purposely created with a 15-degree lean. It is modeled after the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, where Galileo conducted gravity experiments. Drop water-filled balloons from the tower’s spire to mimic Galileo’s gravity experiment.
Observatory and Gravity Discovery Center
Visit the Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory (in Gingin) for the ultimate science experience, which includes interactive Einstein exhibits. How to get around Moore River

Getting to Moore River, WA
Moore River is just over an hour north of the Perth. It’s a simple drive up the Mitchell Freeway before turning right onto Indian Ocean Dr and then left onto Guilderton Rd. The journey up offers a few excellent coastal stops along the way, including Two Rocks and Yanchep, and the settlement itself is located just where the Moore River Estuary meets the Indian Ocean.
