Although it may sound like something you’d find in the Caribbean, Ontario has soft white beaches and beautiful blue water. This magnificent park is a beautiful summer escape and resembles a tropical sanctuary.
On the shores of Lake Ontario, in Prince Edward County, is where you’ll find Sandbanks Provincial Park. It has paths, three stunning beaches, and other characteristics.
The park’s residence of the “biggest baymouth barrier dune structure in the world” is one noteworthy feature. White sand dunes that span over 12 kilometers can be seen along the lake.
The three beaches feature white sand and clear water for swimming and are regarded as “among the greatest in Canada.” Swimmers should use caution because Dunes Beach has a steep entrance, whereas Outlet and Sandbanks beaches have moderate drop-offs.
The park includes various walks with breathtaking views in addition to swimming. The Sandbanks Dunes Trail leads you through the “biggest of its kind in the world,” the “unique and fragile dune habitat.” While hiking along this path, you can admire the stunning sandy slopes and feel as though you’re in another universe.
Another spot to check out is the Lakeview Trail, especially if you enjoy looking at water features. It has walkways lined with wildflowers and picturesque lookouts over Lake Ontario.
Due to the park’s location, where it juts out into the lake, it is also well-known for its prospects for birding.
