There are many more great suburbs to live in, despite the claims of many that Leith is the trendiest neighborhood and others that Portobello is the best one. 1. Dean Village
Dean Village, a tranquil and charming town near to the Water of Leith, is just a short stroll from the city center. One of Edinburgh’s most coveted residential neighborhoods is the beautiful district. The Dean Cemetery, the Dean Gallery, and the Gallery of Modern Art are just a few of the fascinating sights in and surrounding Dean Village.
2. Leith
Although Leith wasn’t previously a part of Edinburgh, it is now many residents’ preferred area to live in! There are lots of hip cafes, pubs, and restaurants in the old port district, as well as the lovely Water of Leith Promenade. Even Time Out Magazine listed the vibrant area as one of the top five “coolest” areas in the world in 2021.
3. Portobello
At the 2020 Urbanism Awards, this seashore neighborhood in Edinburgh won the best neighborhood in the UK and Ireland. Sand beaches, ice cream shops, arcades, and beachside cafes and bars are just a few of the attractions in Portobello.
4. Stockbridge

7. Morningside
A bustling residential neighborhood in Edinburgh’s south called Morningside is a well-liked spot to call home in the city. Being a local has numerous benefits because the neighborhood is home to a variety of independent stores and cafes, as well as a public library, a movie theater, and the Church Hill Theatre, a well-liked Fringe theatre.
