The US news and magazine website TIME have just announced the top 50 destinations in the globe for 2022. According to a statement from TIME, the list was put together by its global network of correspondents and contributors “with an eye toward those delivering unique and interesting experiences.” And, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is honored to be included in the list of 50 most beautiful places in the world in 2022.

The 50 locations chosen for the listed range from well-known hotspots to less-traveled locales, but they are all “thriving, growing, and changing,” according to TIME, “charting a road to economic recovery,” and “investing in sustainability.”
North America
TIME suggests visiting the trendy West Coast cities of Portland, Oregon, and San Francisco, the stylish seaside city of Miami in Florida, and Michigan’s “Comeback City” Detroit. Also mentioned is Park City, Utah, a popular winter skiing resort.
Toronto, the provincial capital of Ontario, and the small surfing community of Tofino, British Columbia, are recommended. Further north, Illuissat, on the peninsula of Greenland, opens onto Disko Bay, known as the “Grand Canyon of the Arctic Circle.”
The list for 2022 also includes the consistently well-liked beach locations of Jamaica and the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico.
South America
This year, TIME focused on the city of Salta in Argentina’s mountainous northwest and the community of El Chaltén in the nation’s Los Glaciares National Park.
Two volcanic wonders that made a list are Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands and Chile’s Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island.
TIME also suggests visiting the pulsating metropolises of Bogotá, Colombia, and So Paulo, Brazil.
Europe
This year in Britain, the quaint appeals of the English county of Devon and the town of Portree on the Scottish Isle of Skye are well received.

The Indonesian province of Bali, the central Philippine island of Boracay, and the capital city of South Korea, Seoul, are all excellent recommendations.
The Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the port city of Fremantle both receive mentions, as does Queenstown in New Zealand, which is a center for adventure sports on the South Island.

TIME’s top two cities in Africa are the capital cities of Kenya and Rwanda, respectively, Nairobi and Kigali. It’s also advisable to visit the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the famed wine region of Franschhoek in South Africa.
The last choice from the continent is Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
