Hawaii is an amazing paradise, with breathtaking natural landscapes ranging from sparkling blue oceans and fine white sand to towering, verdant mountain peaks, a distinct culture, warm weather, and so much more. Every one wants to visit Hawaii, and it isn’t difficult to persuade someone that a trip — or even a move — to the Aloha state is worthwhile, but here are 10 characteristics that make Hawaii so unique.
The Beaches
You’re never far from a good beach in Hawaii, whether you want to surf on Oahu’s North Shore or rest on Lumahai Beach, which is featured above.
The Weather
While having four distinct seasons has advantages, it is also pleasant to never have to worry about the weather because it is usually between 70 and 90 degrees.
Slippers
Hawaiians call flops, and unless you’re hiking up a mountain, they’re the only shoes you’ll ever need.
Hiking
Hawaii is a hiker’s paradise, with various routes of varying lengths, elevation, and vistas – because treadmill running is dull.
Everlasting Sunshine
While it does rain frequently in Hawaii, you must wait 10 minutes or drive to the opposite side of the island to enjoy the sun or rain. Rainbows, too!
Coffee from Kona
Do I need to say more? I’ll do it nonetheless because Kona coffee is famous worldwide and cultivated just in our neighborhood.
Sports on the water
We have it all in Hawaii: kayaking, surfing, fishing, SUP, snorkeling, scuba diving, and so on.
The Iolani Palace
Iolani, once home to King Kamehameha, is the only royal castle on American soil, which is pretty impressive.
Volcanoes
Each state has its distinct geography and even natural disasters, but nothing beats visiting one of Hawaii’s volcanoes, particularly Volcano National Park on the Big Island.
